Frosty Bike Ride

The Frosty Bike Ride will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 10:00 am. We will begin at The F.O.X. (south 14th st) and ride the Jamaica North Trail to Roca for a hot chocolate break and then back to the The F.O.X. for a burger and fries. Round trip will be approximately 14 miles.

THE BIGGEST, FUNNEST, LATEST, EASIEST AND WILDEST CHAIN GANG EVENT OF THE YEAR! THE OWL RIDE ON SATURDAY NIGHT, JULY 16!! NO EXCUSES!

The Owl Ride 1 was a GREAT time last year! They had about a 1000 riders leaving on bicycles at ELEVEN PM!!
This year’s OWL RIDE 2 will be even bigger and better, and we need to have all Chain Gangers signed up and wearing CG Jerseys to win the Parliament Cup for the biggest team in the Owl Ride (Valmont won it last year).

The Bike MS Scenic Ride 2011 presented by docuLynx will take place on Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10, 2011!

You’re up for the challenge - and ready for the ride of your life! The sense of accomplishment that you’ll feel as you cross the finish line can only be matched by the difference you’ll be making in the lives of people affected by MS.

The Bike MS Scenic Ride Omaha to Lincoln promises to be a great cycling experience! It is a fully supported, one or two-day bicycle ride through some of the most scenic countryside and quaint small towns between Omaha and Lincoln to raise funds and awareness for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Nebraska Chapter.

All riders must have the yellow waiver form to receive your packet and rider number

Early turn in and packet pickup will be Wednesday July 6 from 4pm-8pm at the Bike Rack. Discounts on tune-ups offered.

Where

Start (day one) and finish (day two) Concordia Junior/Senior High School, 15656 Fort Street, Omaha, NE 68116. Both days start at 7:30am.

Finish (day one) and start (day two) and overnight: Holiday Inn Express, 3939 N 26th St, Lincoln. 402-477-1100. One day riders will be bussed back to Concordia.

Invite your friends and family to the dinner for only a small fee - a great party that will have local beers, hamburgers from Omaha Steaks and pasta from Petrow's. You won't want to miss these awards!

Why we ride:
Colorectal cancer is the 3rd most commonly diagnosed cancer and the 2nd leading cause of cancer dath in the U.S. With regular screening, colorectal cancer can be detected early when treatment is most effective. The Task Force supports early detection, education and prevention!
Start Times & Route:
53 miles = 7:30 am = loop route pedaling through Colon, Nebraska – A Beautiful and almost completely flat route
20 miles =9:00 am = out and back route in the scenic Platte River Valley
10 miles = 10:00 am = out and back route in the scenic Platte River Valley
Kid's Ride = 10:30 am = around Valley

DCGC2 RIDES SET FOR THE REST OF THIS WEEK & BEYOND!

Reminder: The Chain Gang does not ride the weekday AM rides if it is raining or still soaking wet on the Keystone.

Tomorrow (Thursday, May 12) AM and all Tuesday & Thursday AM’s going forward until further notice: GET BACK IN SHAPE “Masters” Division Ride from normal starting spot (67th & Pacific Street) @ 5:55 AM. These rides will be 15-20 milers.

Friday (May 13) AM and all Monday-Wed-Friday AM’s going forward unless otherwise noticed: 20-mile spirited ride down Keystone Trail to West Papio Trail head and back (20 miles total) departing from 67th & Pacific Street @ 5:55 AM

Saturday, May 14 (Saturday rides will normally be about 30-35 miles with breakfast):
1. The Chain Gang Ride will be a mellow 30-miler either to Walnut Creek Lake on the Keystone and West Papio or the One-Lap Around Council Bluffs, whatever you all want!? Probably ride around 8 or 8:30 AM and be all done by 11 AM.
